This keynote will break down the key components of the new funding framework and translate them into practical implications for pharmacists across Alberta. We’ll explore the changes to pharmacy funding and compensation, professional services, practice considerations, and other elements of the framework, with a focus on how they may influence day-to-day pharmacy practice.
Beyond the individual provisions, the session will consider the bigger picture: what the funding framework signals about the evolving role of pharmacists within Alberta’s healthcare system, where opportunities may emerge, and what pharmacists should be thinking about under the new framework.

Meet Matt Tachuk
Matt Tachuk is the Director of Professional Practice with the Alberta Pharmacists’ Association (RxA), where he works to advance pharmacy practice and support pharmacists across Alberta. In this role, Matt is involved in advocacy, policy development, government relations, and initiatives focused on strengthening the role of pharmacists within Alberta’s healthcare system.
Matt works closely with pharmacists, government, and healthcare partners to understand how policy and funding decisions translate into pharmacy practice and to ensure the perspectives of Alberta pharmacists are represented in discussions affecting the profession.
