2011/2012 Corporate Application

The RxA Corporate Membership is designed to provide business tools and support to pharmacies in Alberta.

Benefits of Membership

• Advertise unlimited jobs for free on the "Career Opportunities" section of RxA’s website. Non-members pay $500 per posting.
• Receive member-only discounts for fax blast advertising to all Alberta pharmacies.
• Advertising discounts available for RxPress (member magazine) and inserts.

Dead Drug Disposal

• Only as a Corporate Member, continue to receive all the benefits of the ENVIRx Program at no EXTRA COST.
• NEW! Now expanded to include SHARPS removal.

Communication

• Members receive weekly updates on RxA news, programs and services through The Capsule.
• Produced quarterly, RxPress includes pharmacy news from across the province and features on pharmacists.
• The members-only area of RxA’s website hosts information on events and professional development, pharmacy grant information, a searchable format of The Capsule and RxPress archives and pharmacy practice information.

Advocacy

• Engaging plan sponsors and third parties to pursue open communication on the issues that concern Corporate Members.
• Strive to influence legislation and regulatory processes that have bearing on pharmacy practice and remuneration models.
• Strengthen linkages with pharmacy stakeholder groups.
• Facilitate appropriate compensation for the implementation of new technology as it pertains to the Electronic Health Record.  

Legal Referral

• Identify whether or not a legal problem exists or whether legal services are required.
• Identify time frames involved in dealing with a particular legal matter as well as the cost.
• Connect with a lawyer that meets the requirements to deal with your matter.

Insurance

• Insurance programs include commercial general insurance for health and dental, life and individual disability – all at a preferred rate.
• The Corporate Membership includes a Pharmacist Membership for your pharmacist licensee, which entitles the recipient to optional professional liability insurance.

RxA Services

• Access to RxA staff and elected board members that represent pharmacies and their business concerns.
• As part of your Corporate Membership, your pharmacist licensee receives the complete pharmacist member benefits program such as travel discounts and RxA’s Wellness Program.
• Notification to public on expanded pharmacy services such as influenza and shingles vaccines and ENVIRx.
• Support advancing scope of practice through continuing education courses and events.
