Data Quality Grant
RxA and Alberta Health and Wellness (AHW) are pleased to announce the Pharmacy Data Quality Improvement Grant.
Both organizations are committed to improve patient care and recognize the important role that pharmacists play in achieving this goal. By improving the data quality of the daily pharmacy dispense information being submitted into the province wide Electronic Health Record (EHR), pharmacists will be able to practice more effectively in the future and also share useful patient information with other healthcare practitioners. This in turn will contribute to better patient care overall.
Each community pharmacy physically located in Alberta and licensed by the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) will be eligible for the grant once they have met the required eligibility criteria. This grant will be administered by RxA.
- On a monthly basis, RxA will receive a list of qualifying stores from AHW.
- These qualifying stores will receive an application to apply for the grant.
- Once the pharmacy licensee or owner signs and returns the application to RxA, payment will follow.
If you are a pharmacy licensee and require more information about this grant, please email Margaret Wing.
Progress updates will be provided through quarterly Data Quality Report Cards sent out by AHW. Report cards will detail the pharmacy’s data quality (i.e., their average data error rates) for the quarter and allow each pharmacy to see the results of their efforts.
Reminder:
Professional services should not be refused to patients who do not provide their Alberta Personal Health Card or if they refuse to confirm their demographic information.
